Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Drivers Mate for our site-to-home team in Preston Brook (WA7 3GE). You will work in a two-person crew, assist the driver with loading, parking and unloading, and provide excellent customer service while ensuring deliveries arrive in good condition.

The role runs Tuesday to Saturday starting at 06:00, with a 48-hour week and a pay rate of £12.71 per hour. DBS check is required, and there are opportunities for training and progression within a supportive, inclusive

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to perform manual handling tasks (pulling, lifting, pushing).
• Able to work as part of a two-person team delivering goods.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment DBS check.
• Must be able to commute to Preston Brook (WA7 3GE) for shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the delivery driver with parking, maneuvering, loading and unloading of goods.
• Provide effective customer service and keep customers informed of delivery ETA.
• Deliver B&Q products to customers' doorsteps with care and precision.
• Work full-time, Tuesday to Saturday, 06:00 start.
• Earn an hourly rate of £12.71 (£31,724.16 annually).

Job description

• Work as a part of two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice)
• Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
• Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner
