Job summary

NEXT plc is seeking a Driver Trainer to support the Central Transport Operation. You will conduct LGV and van driving assessments, deliver inductions, and coach drivers to improve safety and efficiency.

The role requires a Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC experience, and strong training delivery skills. Based at our Pontefract distribution network, you’ll work closely with the Transport Management Team and Driving Academy, with some travel to regional service centres as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence and at least 1 year Class 1 driving experience.
• Experience coaching and delivering Driver CPC training.
• Knowledge of tachograph rules and Working Time regulations.
• LGV Assessor qualification or similar is desirable.
• Ability to plan and deliver training and assessments effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Van and LGV driving assessments for recruitment of core and agency Drivers.
• Plan and deliver induction programmes for new permanent and agency drivers.
• Carry out routine driving assessments and retraining programs to support driver development.
• Deliver CPC training through classroom and online sessions.
• Ensure licence checks, training guidelines and risk assessments meet legislation and standards.
• Keep accurate training records and documentation.
• Occasionally travel to other Regional Service Centres to support operations.
