Job summary

TipTopJob in Trafford Park, Manchester is recruiting an LGV Driver Trainer to coach and assess HGV1 drivers on the road and in classroom settings. You will work with the Driver Administrator to deliver JAUPT accredited Driver CPC training and ensure strict safety standards across operations.

The role requires flexibility to align with driver shift patterns, hands-on mentoring, and reporting; prior experience as a driver and trainer is highly valued, with training on in-house software provided.

Qualifications

• Proven history as a highly experienced HGV1 (Class 1) driver.
• Previous experience in a driver trainer or instructional role is a distinct advantage.
• Solid understanding of JAUPT approved Driver CPC training.
• Ability to use electronic reporting platforms confidently (training on in-house software provided).
• Flexible to align with varied driver shift patterns and workloads.

Responsibilities

• On-the-Road Assessments: assess drivers and provide practical in-cab instruction.
• Core Skills Coaching: train defensive driving, fuel economy, and safe use of vehicles/trailers.
• Classroom Delivery: plan and deliver JAUPT curriculum to larger groups.
• Compliance and Reporting: complete detailed electronic training reports.
• Operational Knowledge: apply container transport and distribution knowledge to training.
