Job summary

Sainsbury's in Northampton is seeking a Driver Trainer to lead quality training for our driving team. The role covers delivering instruction, evaluating driver performance, and coordinating safety practices across stores and depots.

You will hold a full UK driving licence with a C+E entitlement and a current CPC, and you should be prepared to work toward RTITB accreditation within the first 3 months. Overtime opportunities and competitive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Holds a full UK driving licence.
• Must have had a C+E licence for a minimum of 5 years.
• Prepared to work towards RTITB accreditation within first 3 months of being appointed.
• Full understanding of Drivers Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive.
• Understanding of Safe and Fuel-Efficient driving techniques.

Responsibilities

• Delivering quality training and instruction to colleagues.
• Training colleagues in the skills required to carry out their duties in a safe manner and keeping them updated with current and ever-changing legislation.
• Carrying out evaluation and essential ongoing training for applicants for driver positions/new/experienced colleagues.
• Carrying out assessments and identifying training needs, for all drivers including agency drivers.
• Maintain and review all driver training records, advising management of training deadlines.
• Attend appropriate departmental meetings as required.
