Job summary

Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd in Northampton is seeking a Driver Trainer to train drivers and oversee safety and compliance across the depot. This permanent role involves training, evaluating, and maintaining driver records while promoting health and safety standards.

You will deliver practical and classroom training, assess drivers, and support continuous improvement within the Supply Chain & Logistics team.

Qualifications

• Holds a full UK driving licence.
• C+E licence held for a minimum of 5 years.
• Willing to work towards RTITB accreditation within 3 months.
• Understands Drivers Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive.
• Understands safe and fuel-efficient driving techniques.

Responsibilities

• Delivering quality training and instruction to colleagues.
• Training colleagues in duties safely and updating legislation.
• Carrying out evaluations and ongoing training for driver positions.
• Carrying out assessments and identifying training needs for all drivers.
• Maintain and review driver training records and deadlines.
• Conduct all forms of H/S training (manual handling, food safety, banksman).
• Ensure HS training for store deliveries and depot operations.
• Attend departmental meetings as required.
• Act as a legal representative when necessary.
• Complete store deliveries/driver duties as required.
