About the role

As a Driver Trainee Installer, you will be supported through our 12-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer with a C1 driving licence. Once you're fully trained, you'll have the opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
• Assist in loading the delivery vehicle with the day's deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
• Respect customers' homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Starting salary for a Customer Delivery Hub Driver Trainee is approximately £32,002 per year.

Essential Skills and Experience

• UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, both over the phone and face-to-face.
• Physical ability to handle large items such as sofas, white goods, and furniture.
• Passion for technology and installation.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in installation and delivery driving.
