Job summary

A leading company is hiring a Driver Trainee Installer for a 12-month training program aimed at qualifying as a Customer Delivery Installer. About the role

As a Driver Trainee Installer, you will be supported through our 12-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer with a C1 driving licence.

Once you're fully trained, you'll have the opportunity to deliver and install products such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems, and TV sets into customers' homes as part of a 2-person delivery crew.

To work in this role, you must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

Starting salary for a Customer Delivery Hub Driver Trainee is £32,002 annually.

Once qualified, your day will start at the delivery hub before heading out on route. Your responsibilities include:

  • Representing the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
  • Loading your lorry with the day's deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
  • Respecting customers' homes and handling unexpected situations professionally.
  • Installing products efficiently and demonstrating their use to customers.
  • Staying updated with new products and technologies.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential skills/experience

  • UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Physical ability to handle large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture.
  • Passion for technology and installation.

Desirable skills/experience

  • Previous experience in installation and delivery driving.
