GXO Logistics is seeking a Class 1 Shunter to join our Northfleet team in Kent, UK, supporting Arbex. This permanent role offers 42 hours per week on a 4on/4off pattern with day or night shifts (06:00-18:00 / 18:00-06:00).

The package includes a base salary of £35,583.38, plus a shift premium of £3,231.84 and night premium of £7,033.44. Benefits include 20 days holiday, pension, dental coverage, GP service, EAP, and GXO University access.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driving licence with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
• Valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC) required.
• Less than 6 penalty points; no DR/DG/DD/BA/CD/AC/LC or TT99 in last 5 years.
• Shunter experience preferred.
• Able to perform manual handling and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the TUG unit is safe to operate and monitor HS of the transport area; report non-conformances.
• Manage trailers on and off the bays at the RDC and mill in line with operations.
• Support external hauliers for collections/deliveries and internal movements between sites.
• Complete transport area checks accurately using systems provided.
• Monitor usage and allocation of stand trailers.
• Prepare trailers for loading including securing with straps and curtains.

Are you a Class 1 Shunter Driver looking for either a day or night role with the security of guaranteed full-time hours? Here at GXO, we are looking for a Class 1 Shunters to join our team in Northfleet supporting our customer, Arbex. This is a permanent role, and you will be working 42 hours per week on a 4on,4off shift pattern. Shifts available 06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00.

What you'll do on a typical day

• To ensure the TUG unit is safe to operate and monitor H&S of the transport area, report any non-conformances including VOR trailers.
• Effectively manage trailers on and off the bays, both at the RDC and over the mill in line with operational requirements.
• Support all external hauliers for collections/deliveries and any internal movements between site locations.
• Complete all transport area checks in an accurate and timely manner utilising systems and methods as supplied.
• Monitor the usage and allocation of stand trailers.
• Prepare trailers for loading including laying out of straps and pulling curtains.
• Carry out any other duties as required in line with the role.

What you need to succeed

• You must hold a valid Class 1 licence with a minimum of 3 years experience.
• Have a valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC).
• Less than 6 penalty points on licence (No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years).
• Shunter Experience preferred.
• Must be able to complete manual handling tasks.
• Good communication skills.
