Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc in Northfleet is seeking a Class 1 Shunter Driver for a permanent full-time position. You will work a 4on, 4off pattern with 42 hours per week and shifts from 06:00–18:00 or 18:00–06:00.

The role offers a salary of £35,583.38 plus a shift premium of £3,231.84 and an additional night uplift of £7,033.44 per annum. Benefits include 20 days holiday, a company pension, GP service, EAP, MyBenefits discounts, and GXO University access.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 1 licence with a minimum of 3 years experience.
• Driver Qualification Card (CPC) required.
• Shunter experience preferred.
• Must be able to complete manual handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the TUG unit is safe to operate and monitor H&S of the transport area.
• Manage trailers on and off the bays at the RDC and mill in line with operational requirements.
• Support external hauliers for collections/deliveries and internal movements between site locations.
• Complete transport area checks accurately using supplied systems.
• Monitor usage of stand trailers.
• Prepare trailers for loading with straps and curtains.
• Carry out other duties as required.
