Job summary

Active Force Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Driver’s Mate to join the team serving GL13 and surrounding areas. You will be part of a two-person delivery team, assisting with deliveries of luxury potatoes to businesses, loading and unloading, and ensuring safe, efficient deliveries.

The role is active and hands-on, offering ongoing work with early starts; you will support the driver, handle goods, and maintain professional customer service on every delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be able to reach GL13 for a 5:00am start.
• Experience in driver’s mate, warehouse or delivery roles is beneficial but not required.
• Physically capable of regular lifting and manual handling.

Active Force are looking for a reliable and energetic Driver’s Mate to join our team, working with one of our valued clients based in GL13.

You’ll be working as part of an established two-person delivery team, assisting with deliveries of luxury potatoes to businesses across the local and surrounding areas.

This is an active, hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys keeping busy, working as part of a team and being out on the road. You’ll support the driver with loading and unloading the vehicle, carrying products into customer premises and ensuring deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting the driver with deliveries to businesses across the local and surrounding areas
• Loading and unloading the delivery vehicle
• Carrying deliveries into business premises and customer locations
• Helping move and handle products throughout the delivery run
• Supporting the driver with route organisation and keeping deliveries running smoothly
• Ensuring goods are handled carefully and delivered safely
• Providing a friendly and professional service to customers
• Helping maintain a clean, tidy and organised vehicle
• Working closely with the driver to ensure each delivery run is completed efficiently

Working Hours & Pay

• Pay rate: £13.50–£15.00 per hour
• Location: GL13
• Start time: 5:00am
• Work type: Ongoing work
• Shift length: Typically 9–10 hours, depending on completion of the delivery run

Requirements

• Must be able to get to GL13 reliably for a 5:00am start
• Previous experience in a Driver’s Mate, warehouse or delivery role is beneficial but not essential
• Physically fit and comfortable with regular lifting, carrying and manual handling
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Happy working on your feet throughout the day
• Comfortable working as part of a two-person delivery team
• Positive attitude and good customer service skills
• Able to follow instructions and work safely and responsibly
