Job summary

Interaction Recruitment in Bedford is seeking Driver's Mates to support HGV drivers with deliveries to customers. You will assist with loading, unloading, and guiding vehicles at customer sites, working as part of a two-person delivery team and delivering orders safely.

DRIVER’S MATE – IMMEDIATE STARTS AVAILABLE!

We’re looking for reliable and hardworking Driver’s Mates to assist HGV drivers with deliveries to customers.

THE ROLE

Working alongside the driver, you’ll help ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

Your duties will include:

• Assisting the driver with deliveries
• Loading and unloading the vehicle
• Helping move kegs, cases and other products
• Traffic marshalling and guiding the vehicle when reversing or manoeuvring
• Acting as a banksman when required
• Helping the driver safely navigate customer sites
• Delivering orders safely and efficiently
• Working as part of a two-person delivery team
• Providing good customer service at each delivery
• Following all health & safety procedures
• Maintaining good communication and interaction with the agency
• Reporting any issues or concerns to the relevant contact

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Reliable and punctual
• Physically fit, as the role involves manual handling
• Confident assisting with vehicle manoeuvring and traffic marshalling
• Good awareness of health & safety
• Good communication skills
• Comfortable working outdoors and in all weather conditions
• A positive, can-do attitude
• Previous delivery, warehouse or labouring experience is beneficial but not essential
• Full training provided
