Driver’s Mate

Permanent

48 hours per week. Working any 5 days in a 7 day period.

Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company (CMBC) is one of the leading, historic brewers in the UK. Formed out of a joint venture between Carlsberg UK and Marston’s PLC, we combine over 300 years of shared values, history, and heritage in UK brewing.

We are now recruiting for a Driver’s Mate to join us. Reporting to the Transport Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting our drivers to deliver our stock of lagers, ales, and craft beers accurately and safely from our Bedford depot to our customers, ensuring that each delivery is completed with excellent customer service.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Supporting the driver and warehouse teams in loading/unloading of stock.
2. Assisting the driver with the most efficient traffic routes to help both get to each location and back home as quickly and safely as possible.
3. Building excellent working relationships with customers and other departments.
4. Prioritizing health and safety in all processes.

Experience and Key Attributes:

1. Prior experience working as a driver’s mate, drayman or within a warehouse is desirable, however not required.
2. Strong customer service skills.
3. Manual handling experience and/or training is desirable, however full training will be provided during induction.
4. Knowledge of the local region.
