Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is hiring a Drivers Mate for our Tilbury site (RM18 7HZ). You will support the driver by delivering barrels and cases of drinks to pub cellars, performing up to 12 drops per day and ensuring safe, on-time service.

This full-time, permanent role offers a 45-hour week, Monday to Friday with an early start between 04:00 and 07:00. Join a fast-paced team committed to safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Driver Mate or similar desirable.
• Flexible approach to work.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Conducting vehicle checks, including opening curtain-sided vehicles and inner curtains.
• Unloading barrels from the vehicle onto a mat.
• Rolling barrels to a cellar or similar storage area.
• Entering and exiting cellars, which may involve steps, confined spaces, reduced lighting, and roping/lowering barrels into the cellar.
• Rolling barrels into their designated positions.
