Job summary

GAP is looking for a proactive and hardworking Labourer to join our Trenching & Shoring Division at the Harthill depot in the United Kingdom. You’ll help keep the workshop and yard organised, prepare equipment for hire, and support the team in delivering hire gear to customer sites across construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally in a hire depot or yard.
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Driving licence, CSCS card and forklift licence are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Keep the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
• Clean equipment and store it in an orderly fashion.
• Quality-check equipment before it leaves the depot.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Load, deliver and collect hire equipment to/from customer sites safely.

As a Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and safely. You'll maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop and yard, prepare equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Loading, delivering and collecting hire equipment to and from customer sites in a safe, timely and professional manner, ensuring all relevant checks and associated administration are completed accurately
