Job description

Job Opportunity: Driver/Fitter at Enable Hire

Enable Hire is seeking a talented Driver/Fitter to join our team in Lingfield. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing business transitioning into new markets, including power, battery storage, drainage, and water sector schemes, alongside our existing rail offerings.

As part of an SME, you'll gain comprehensive exposure to construction operations, working closely with Infrastructure teams, HSQE, procurement, delivery, resourcing, and other departments. We provide bespoke training tailored to your development plans.

This position involves working with the yard team to maintain and prepare equipment for delivery, ensuring safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include cleaning, testing, certifying equipment, loading/unloading vans, and operating lifting equipment as needed. Our hire fleet includes welfare vehicles and cabins, which require valeting and cleaning, including the rear toilet compartment. The role is supervised by our depot manager and is both client-facing and operationally critical, requiring a smart, competent, and engaging individual.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Cleaning and preparing tools, vans, and plant for hire, managing your workload and priorities.
  2. Maintaining a clean and tidy workshop and yard.
  3. Performing basic repairs on tools and equipment after training.
  4. Updating maintenance logs.
  5. Towing welfare cabins once proficient and approved by the operations team.
  6. Providing a professional and efficient service to customers, representing the business in the field.
  7. Safely and efficiently delivering tools and equipment using vans, including lifting operations when required.
Qualifications

• CPCS plant qualification or forklift operator ticket is beneficial.

Technical Skills

• Towing experience is a plus but not essential.

• Full UK Driving license for vehicles up to 3.5T van, with a maximum of 3 points.

• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.

• Confident and adaptable approach.

• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

• Capable of working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
