Calderdale and Huddersfield Solutions Ltd (CHS) is recruiting Transport Services drivers to support the Equipment Loan store team. The role covers transport, deliveries and collections across hospital and community settings in the Calderdale area, with supervision by the operations manager.
You will work across sites, including hospitals and community venues, and may rotate to other facility services as needed.

CHS are recruiting for a number of Transport Services driver's to complement the current team.
Working to agreed competencies and protocols, the post holder will contribute to providing a high quality transport service to Acute and Community Services and clients throughout the Calderdale and Kirklees area. The post holder will be working under the supervision (not always direct) of the operation's manager. This will involve taking responsibility for an identified and delegated workload.
Work will be carried out both from an Acute setting to a variety of community based settings, e.g. HRI/CRH,Health Centres, Dentists, Opticians, the service users home, residential care or other community venues.
Please note whilst this role is predominantly based within the equipment service, there may be a requirement in the future to work across all Facility services, which include Portering/Linen, Domestics, Catering, Transport/Equipment and other support services.
The successful candidate will join the Equipment Loan store team to include all aspects of transport , deliveries and collections.
Duties include but are not limited to:- first user vehicle checks, transportation of equipment, samples and any other requests deemed suitable as well as completion of relevant tracking forms, general upkeep of the vehicles including cleaning and day to day maintenance of vehicles (oil, water, DEF etc,).
Successful applicants will need to undertake a drivers assessment and have no more than 6 points on their licence.

All staff new to Calderdale and Huddersfield Solutions are required to undergo a 6 month probationary period (with the exception of staff on temporary or fixed term contracts for 6 months or less who are subject to separate arrangements).
Automatic enrolment into the NEST pension scheme Contributions: 5% from the employee and 3% from the employer.
No pay for first the first working day of absence. During the first year of service: statutory sickness payment only.
More than 1 year and up to 2 years of service: 4 weeks full pay + 4 weeks half pay.
Over 2 years: 6 weeks full pay + 6 weeks half pay.
Full pay - 8 weeks (2 months)
Half pay -18 weeks (4 months) +SMP then:
SMP only - 13 weeks (3 months)

You may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £54.40, Standard £26.40 or Basic £26.40) from your salary when you commence in post (including Internal staff). For Enhanced and Standard DBS checks you will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £16 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment.
