Job summary

FCC Environment is hiring an LGV Class C+E Driver based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This full-time role offers 42.5 hours per week with an hourly rate of £17.94.

You will perform daily vehicle checks, ensure loads are safe and compliant, and maintain high service standards. We provide a competitive package including a pension, life insurance, 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, training and progression, and access to various employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Driver CPC and commitment to completing required training.
• Knowledge of EU tachograph regulations and drivers hours.
• Good timekeeping and attendance.

• Ability to work on your own initiative and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Completing daily vehicle checks and ensuring your vehicle is roadworthy.
• Promptly reporting any vehicle defects or damage to your line manager.
• Ensuring loads are safe and legally compliant at all times.
• Checking and correctly using all paperwork issued in relation to the loads carried.
• Completing the allocated number of loads each day in a timely manner.
• Ensuring relevant legislation regarding EU tachograph regulations is met.
• Keeping vehicles clean and in good order.
• Communicating any customer issues or complaints promptly to your line manager.
• Driving safely and efficiently at all times and complying with road legislation.
• Promptly reporting any incidents or accidents regardless of severity.

What will you be doing?

What are we looking for?

• Driver CPC, with a commitment to completing the required training and maintaining the qualification.
• Knowledge of EU and RTD legislation relating to drivers' hours, rest and working time.
• Some form of CPC training already undertaken.
• Bulk haulage experience within the waste industry is preferred but not essential, as full training is provided.
• Good timekeeping and attendance.
• Flexibility with daily tasks to help achieve productivity targets.
• A considerate and approachable manner.
• The ability to work on your own initiative.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
