Job summary

FCC Environment in the United Kingdom is seeking a Contract Supervisor to lead the day-to-day delivery of Recycling Centre contracts across multiple Suffolk sites.

You will monitor service standards, ensure health and safety compliance, and develop staff to optimise performance and customer service. A full UK driving licence is essential, with weekend rota work possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste management or a related sector.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to deliver within a service delivery context.
• Experience managing remote teams and coordinating multiple sites.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word) and data handling.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with internal and client stakeholders.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Flexible to meet contract needs and weekend rota requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of Recycling Centre contracts and ensure contractual requirements are met.
• Monitor service standards across sites and address issues with delivery.
• Lead and develop site staff, including team leaders and operatives.
• Ensure staff training and competency for safe operation.
• Work with site teams to maximise reuse and recycling rates and identify improvements.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and site presentation.

What will you be doing?

• Managing the day-to-day delivery of the Recycling Centre Contract and ensuring contractual requirements are met
• Monitoring and reporting on service standards across the sites and taking action to address any issues with service deliveryEnsuring high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the sites
• Managing and developing site staff, including Recycling Team Leaders, Recycling Operatives and relief/temporary staff
• Ensuring employees are appropriately trained and competent to carry out their roles safely
• Working with site teams to maximise reuse and recycling rates and identify opportunities for further improvement
• Ensuring sites are well presented, maintained and deliver high standards of customer service
• Coordinating the collection and recording of data and ensuring appropriate reports are produced in a timely manner
• Building effective relationships with the client, contract partners and internal colleagues
• Providing weekend cover on a rota basis and supporting operations during weekends and bank holidays where required
• Operating within the agreed cost budget and identifying opportunities to make efficiency savings

What are we looking for?

• Experience of working within the waste industry or a similar sector
• Experience within a customer-focused service delivery organisation
• Experience of managing remote teams
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong administration and organisational skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
• A flexible approach to meet the needs of the Contract
• A strong commitment to promoting a positive health and safety culture
• Willingness to work weekends on a rota basis
• A full, valid UK driving licence
