Job summary

MPA Recruitment is seeking a Category D Driver in the North Down area for a Public Sector client. The role offers 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8am-4pm) at £12.75 per hour, with benefits like weekly pay and holiday pay.

Responsibilities include transporting clients, assisting those with mobility needs, and ensuring dignity and safety during transit. A valid Category D licence and DQC are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication (English).
• 6 Months minimum experience driving coaches/buses.
• Valid, in-date Category D UK driving licence.
• Current Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
• Experience using passenger tail lifts/ramps and ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Daily collection and conveyance of clients/officers as allocated.
• Transport clients for social/educational outings and holiday trips.
• Assist clients including those using wheelchairs or walking aids.
• Provide personal assistance while maintaining privacy, dignity and rights.
• Help clients into and out of vehicles and prepare transit arrangements.
• Participate in supervision and reviews as part of care programmes.

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, MPA Recruitment welcomes suitable applications for the role of Category D Driver in the North Down area.

Hours of Work

37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8am-4pm)

Rates of pay

£12.75 per hour.

The Job Role:

• Daily collection and conveyance of clients and/or officers as allocated.
• Collecting and conveying staff and clients for social and educational outings and during holiday trips.
• Securing clients travelling with recommended restraint devices.
• Where necessary assist clients, including those using wheelchairs or walking aids, etc in any manner possible with regard to their needs e.g. preparation for transit to (and on return home) centres and functions, doing up laces, switching off lights and appliances etc.
• Assist clients into and out of vehicles
• Providing, where appropriate, personal assistance to clients/patients and ensuring privacy, dignity and rights of clients.
• Helping in the provision of individual and group programmes of care.
• Participating in group and leisure activities.
• Attending and contributing to reviews of clients/ patients as appropriate.
• Participating in programme of formal supervision
• Being available to listen and talk to clients/patients.

Essential Criteria:

• Valid, in-date, clean full Category D UK driving licence
• Current Driver Qualification Card
• 6 Months minimum experience driving coaches / buses
• Excellent verbal and written communication (English)
• Demonstrate experience in using passenger tail lifts/ ramps and ancillary equipment
