Job summary

Speedy Hire PLC in St Albans is seeking a Delivery Driver (3.5-ton) with a full UK driving licence to join our team. You will deliver and collect hire equipment from customer sites and depots, ensuring safety and professionalism.

The role is Monday to Friday, 07:30–17:00, 42 hours per week, with pro rata salary of £29,572 per year. We offer a pension, life cover, health plan, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, employee discounts and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• A full, valid UK driving licence.
• Previous delivery driving experience is preferred.
• A professional, friendly and customer-focused attitude.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• A responsible approach to driving, vehicle safety and manual handling.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting hire equipment from customer sites and businesses.
• Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and roadworthy.
• Loading and unloading equipment safely and securely.
• Providing excellent customer service and representing Speedy Hire professionally.
• Working closely with the depot team to ensure deliveries and collections run smoothly.

Based in St Albans, as a 3.5ton Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting hire equipment from customers and sites, ensuring every delivery is completed safely, efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting hire equipment from customer sites and businesses.
• Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and roadworthy.
