Job summary

Speedy Hire Plc. in Basildon is seeking a Delivery Driver for a 3.5 tonne vehicle. You will be delivering hire equipment locally, working Mon-Fri 07:30–17:00, 42 hours per week. This role emphasizes face-to-face customer service and adherence to Speedy’s ESG commitments.

The ideal candidate has a valid UK driving licence, strong knowledge of the local area, and a proven customer-service orientation. A driver with UK experience is preferred and a positive team contributor will fit well.

• A valid UK driving licence is required.
• Good knowledge of the local Basildon area.
• Strong customer focus and professional conduct.
• Experience driving within the UK.
• Ability to support the ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hire equipment using a 3.5 ton flatbed van.
• Provide excellent customer service on each visit.
• Plan routes and liaise with the delivery team to optimise daily schedules.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety standards.

Based in Basildon, the role of Delivery Driver is a busy and productive role. You will be driving a 3.5 ton flatbed van, delivering hire equipment around the local area. This role is vital to our operation; you will be the face of our business and a representation of our vision, mission and values.

What You’ll Need

• Driving licence
• Good knowledge of the local area
• Strong customer focus
• Experience driving within the UK
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
