Job summary

South Tyneside Council is seeking a Driver on a 15 hours per week, term-time-only basis to support Mosaic Federation at Hedworthfield and Valley View Primary Schools. The role involves morning pupil collection and afternoon school collection, with duties to cover ad-hoc transport tasks as required.

The position is a fixed-term contract until July 2027, with the expectation of DBS checks and safeguarding compliance in line with policy.

• Collect pupils from school and return them home at the end of the school day.
• Take on ad-hoc driving tasks such as school trips or swimming lessons as needed.

£26,016 pa pro rata (£13.48ph)

Required as soon as possible

Fixed Term Contract until July 2027 (may be extended)

Work Pattern: Monday to Friday – Any hours between 7.30am to 9am and 2.30pm- 4pm.

The Governing Board is seeking to appoint a driver to work on transport with a member of staff to collect pupils from home in the morning and drop them off at school before the start of the school day and to collect pupils from school and return them home at the end of the school day.

Any other additional driving tasks on an ad-hoc basis (e.g. school trips, swimming lessons, etc.) are also an aspect of this role.
