Job summary

Galloways Bakers in Wigan is seeking an enthusiastic Delivery Driver to operate our delivery vans and transport freshly made products to 23 shop locations. You will be required to unlock/relock delivery sites, follow traffic rules, assist with warehouse loading, and keep the vehicles clean during lulls in activity.

The role offers flexible working patterns, potential weekend shifts, and the opportunity to contribute to a family-run bakery known for traditional quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar driving role.
• Full driver’s licence with minimal points.
• Willingness to undertake flexible working patterns.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport fresh food goods to designated locations.
• Deliver freshly made products to our 23 shops.
• Unlocking alarmed and locked shops, then re-alarming and locking after delivery.
• Engage in commercial driving activities adhering to traffic rules and regulations.
• Assist in warehouse duties including loading and unloading goods.
• Wash and clean the vans when not in use, including vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with van driving and warehouse operations.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members.

• Unlocking alarmed and locked shops then re-alarming and locking when goods have been delivered.
• Engage in commercial driving activities adhering to traffic rules and regulations.
• Assist in warehouse duties including loading and unloading goods.
• Washing and cleaning the vans when not in use including the maintenance vehicles.

We are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to drive one of our delivery vans delivering our freshly made products to our 23 shops.

You must be conscientious and be willing to undertake flexible working patterns., Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar driving role.

• Familiarity with van driving and warehouse operations.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members.

You will be cover for the DAY AND NIGHT SHIFT DRIVERS.

£13.85 per hour.

You may be required to work extra days for holiday and sickness cover on both shifts

Due to the company's insurance restrictions drivers have to be 25 and over.

Full drivers licence required with minimal points.
