Job summary

GAP Group Limited is seeking a Driver for our Plant & Tool Division. You’ll be at the heart of operations delivering essential equipment such as diggers, dumpers and power tools to construction, utilities and infrastructure sites across the UK.

You’ll load, deliver and collect hire equipment safely and professionally, demonstrate kit on-site when needed, and complete all checks and paperwork accurately to keep projects moving.

Qualifications

• Delivery and collection of plant equipment to customer sites.
• Accurate completion of damage checks, fuel levels and signatures.
• On-site start-up and demonstration of equipment when requested.
• Daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance for roadworthiness.
• Safe loading/unloading with proper strapping and securing.
• Tag damaged machines and place them in the correct depot area.
• Maintain a clean, organised vehicle and assist depot duties.

Whether you're navigating busy city streets or remote rural roads, your role is key to keeping projects running smoothly.

About You

What You'll be Doing

• Delivering and collecting plant equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and authorised signatures)
• Starting machines on-site when requested and demonstrating equipment use where needed
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety
• Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods
• Tagging damaged machines on return and placing them in the correct depot area
• Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties
• Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation
