Job summary

GAP Group Limited is seeking a reliable Driver for our Plant & Tool Division in the UK. You will deliver and collect plant and tool equipment to construction, utilities, and infrastructure sites, completing paperwork and safety checks on every trip.

Daily vehicle checks, on-site equipment demonstrations when required, and careful handling of loads will be key. A professional, safety‑minded approach and good customer service are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Reliable, safety‑conscious driver with focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Experience delivering plant or tool equipment is preferred.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting plant equipment to and from customer sites, completing paperwork accurately.
• Starting machines on site and demonstrating equipment use when needed.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
• Safely loading and unloading equipment with proper securing methods.
• Tagging damaged machines and organizing depot areas.
• Maintaining a clean vehicle and supporting depot duties.
• Following site health and safety rules and tachograph regulations.

About the role

Join a role where your driving skills make a real impact – every day is different, and your work keeps the industry moving. As a Driver in GAP’s Plant & Tool Division, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, delivering essential equipment such as diggers, dumpers, and power tools to construction, utilities, and infrastructure sites across the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering and collecting plant equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and authorised signatures)
• Starting machines on site when requested and demonstrating equipment use where needed
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety
• Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods
• Tagging damaged machines on return and placing them in the correct depot area
• Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties
• Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone reliable, safety‑conscious, and customer‑focused:

• Proven experience in a driving role, ideally delivering plant or tool equipment
• Full UK driving licence (towing experience and Digi Tacho card are desirable)
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately
• A professional, friendly approach when dealing with customers and colleagues
