Job summary

GAP Group Limited is hiring a Driver for our Plant & Tool Division across the UK. You’ll load, deliver, and collect hire equipment such as diggers and power tools, ensuring checks and paperwork are completed accurately.

You’ll work safely on site, demonstrate equipment as needed, perform daily vehicle checks, and keep the depot tidy while adhering to Health & Safety rules.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a driving role, ideally delivering plant or tool equipment.
• Full UK driving licence (towing experience and Digi Tacho card are desirable).
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting plant equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and authorised signatures).
• Starting machines on-site when requested and demonstrating equipment use where needed.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
• Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods.
• Tagging damaged machines on return and placing them in the correct depot area.
• Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties.
• Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation.
