Job summary

Richmond Northampton Village in Northampton is seeking a Driver to organise and deliver a reliable daily transport schedule for residents, including shopping trips, medical appointments and social activities, using company vehicles.

You will perform routine vehicle checks, ensure documentation is in order, lock vehicles, monitor fuel and MOT expiry dates, complete journey logs and report any defects with notes for follow-up.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence required and experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • First aid trained; DBS check required.
  • Experience with wheelchair restraints and tail-lift is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and deliver daily transport for residents, including shopping trips, appointments and activities.
  • Carry out vehicle checks, keep logs, and ensure fuel and documentation are up to date.
  • Report vehicle defects and monitor MOT expiry dates; ensure vehicles are secure.

This also includes access to our online portal which has a variety of resources to aid personal development & free access LinkedIn's online learning platform.As a Driver, you'll organise and facilitate a daily transport schedule that meets the needs of residents within the village, providing scheduled and on-demand trips such as shopping trips, places of interest and medical appointments.You'll help us make health happen by:Collecting and delivering items of equipment to and from the village as required using company vehiclesCarrying out scheduled checks on company vehicles, ensuring all documentation is in order and that vehicles are cleaned and have an adequate supply of fuelReporting any vehicle defects and investigating and documenting the findings as requiredCompleting journey logs after each use and monitoring Tax and MOT expiry dates, informing the Administrator near due datesEnsuring vehicles are locked and that alarms are activated when parkingKey Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:As a Driver, it's essential that you hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have experience in a customer focused environment. You're polite and courteous with a can-do approach to your work. Flexible and adaptable, you're a skilled and responsible driver that has an ability to build a trusting relationship with people. First aid trained with previous experience driving groups of people, using wheelchair restraint systems and vehicle tail-lifts would be advantageous.Because we care for vulnerable people, we'll need you to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process.
