Job summary

Veolia in Derby invites applications for a Class 2 Driver. The driver will operate 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with start times around 5:30–6:00am, collecting waste and managing containers at various sites.

The role offers a salary of £39,835.85 per annum plus Veolia benefits, and opportunities to earn extra by completing over 110 bins when allocated to a trade round. Comprehensive training and a supportive team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Essential: Class 2 (Cat C) licence.
• Essential: Up to date CPC Digi / Tachograph Card.
• Excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving and emptying multiple waste containers.
• Lifting bins of all weights and sizes.
• Completing daily vehicle checks as per driver handbook.
• Inputting information into onboard system and keeping paperwork up to date.
• Complying with traffic laws and ensuring loads are secure.
• Leaving carriageway clean and cleaning up spills.

What you’ll be doing

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving and emptying multiple waste containers
• Lifting bins of all weights and sizes
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including security and weight of loads
• Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up

What we’re looking for

Essential:

• Class 2 (Cat C) licence
• Up to date CPC Digi / Tachograph Card
• Excellent time management skills

Desirable:

• RCV experience would be a distinct advantage
• Prior experience working in the Waste Industry
