Premier Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Draughtsperson in Leicester. The role involves designing and developing electro‑mechanical equipment for a range of industrial applications, working to industry standards and best practices.

Based in Enderby, you will join a professional design team reporting to the Senior Design Engineer. The successful candidate will handle design reviews, produce drawings and BOMs, support R&D activities, and assist Production to resolve manufacturing issues

Qualifications

• Qualified to at least HNC level in engineering or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship in engineering discipline preferred.
• Experience in drafting for electro‑mechanical equipment and electrical applications.

Our client has been established for more than a century and are recognised as global market leaders in the design and manufacture of niche electrical solutions, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Draughtsperson to complement their professional design team.

Based in Enderby in Leicester and reporting to the Senior Design Engineer, the successful Draughtsperson will be responsible for the design and development of electro-mechanical equipment for a range of industrial applications, working to best practices and relevant industry standards in a pivotal role to the business as the design team continue to develop innovative solutions to meet customer specifications, as well as develop and test products for new market applications.

Core duties for this varied and challenging Draughtsperson role will include (but not be limited to):

• Reviewing design requirements & assisting the engineering team with technical aspects of designs including specification of materials.
• Producing drawings, BOM's and other design information issued for manufacture.
• Supporting R&D activities as agreed with the Head of Technical Sales, which may include the design, setting up and running of test equipment, working alongside the lead R&D Engineer.
• Providing support to Production, helping to resolve issues arising during the manufacturing process.
• Ensuring the delivery of projects on schedule and on budget, demonstrating the ability to handle the pressure of managing a complex range of projects, a high volume of work, within a fast pace of implementation.
• Understanding and applying relevant design, regulatory and industry standards whilst recognising new industry wide processes being developed and using the opportunity to apply those within the Company and adhering to all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental policies within the company.To be considered for this exceptional Draughtsperson opportunity it is envisaged the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC level of above and ideally have complete an apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline and demonstrating experience gained in a similar engineering draughting environment and with experience of medium and high voltage design and a sound knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD packages (preferably Autodesk).

Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team you will be an excellent communicator at all levels with a keen eye for detail and experience of working with sheet metal and equipment associated with electrical applications.
