Job description

Advert Probe Oil Tools, part of Acteon Group, provides reliable, high performing turnkey solutions that are manufactured, assembled, and tested to the highest standards. At the core of our service offering, is our machining capabilities, combining state of the art equipment & our highly skilled team to provide total flexibility to develop equipment of any size and specification to meet our client's needs.

Probe are currently looking to hire a Draughtsperson/CAD Operator on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, they will be responsible for generating new drawings from customers’ requirements, utilising SolidWorks models to generate drawing packs for workshop use and to assist in obtaining 3rd party certification for products manufactured by Probe Oil Tools.

You will report to and work with the General Manager in the production of the company's technical requirements to meet the business requirements and customers’ expectations, liaise with parent company group engineering teams, to ensure collaborative offerings and best practice are obtained.

Duties & Main Responsibilities
•Provide technical support to the business teams and customer requirements, supporting customers to find the right solution to their needs.
•Aid in increasing offerings by selling technical support/providing solutions on customer issues/requests to obtain planned business growth.
•Help design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques
•Add details to customer’s drawings to enable manufacturing to the desired standard
•Work from concept sketches and specifications created by customers, production, and sales teams.
•Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products
•Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by production and sales Teams
•Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) software
•Work under the supervision of technical sales manager
•Draft and prepare layout drawings of the given structures, components, and devices.
•Produce draft designs and diagrams according to the given specifications
•Assist and coordinate with sales team and manufacturing teams.
•Prepare drawings from customer information/approval for manufacturing products.
•Prepare drawings and diagrams for electrical devices and installations.
•Collaborate with designers, constructors, and engineers on projects.
•Calculate dimensions and allowances with accurate precision
•Compile data and specifications sheets.
•Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
•Accommodate safety procedures (weights etc.) and issues in manufacturing drawings
•To show responsibility, compliance and full commitment to the Health, Safety and Environmental management system
•To show a responsibility and compliance to the Quality Management System, including all relevant procedures and work instructions

•Experienced in a similar role
•3D Design experience ideally Solid Works
•Compilation of assembly and manufacturing drawings
•Mechanical Engineering background
•High level of attention to detail

•Ability to challenge Demonstrable post qualifying experience
