Job summary

Lanes Group PLC is seeking an enthusiastic Drainage Assistant for their Woolpit Depot. This permanent, full-time role includes working alongside experienced engineers to assess drainage conditions and support maintenance.

You will operate equipment, assist in emergency response, and complete job documentation. Benefits include enhanced overtime rates, 21 days holiday, and ongoing training opportunities.

A valid UK driving licence and interest in drainage or civil engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
• Strong interest in drainage, utilities, or civil engineering.
• Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Desire to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers about scheduled works.
• Assist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages.
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment.
• Remove waste materials from wastewater systems.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance.
• Support CCTV inspections of underground pipes.
• Assist in emergency response situations.
• Learn to complete job sheets and method statements.
