Job summary

Auger is seeking a Drainage & Subsidence Assistant to join the Guildford-based team. The role covers Guildford and surrounding areas with a total package of £31,884.00 (overtime optional to £33,504.53). 42.5 hours weekly (Mon-Fri) and door-to-door travel from home.

Training provided with opportunities to progress and earn overtime bonuses. Starting salary £28,089.10, plus annual bonus (£2,000–£2,500) and 5.5% pension (£1,484).

Qualifications

• No prior experience required – training provided.
• Groundworks experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with repairs, investigations, excavations and reinstatement works.
• Collaborate with team to support projects on-site.
• Learn subsidence investigation techniques and site safety procedures.
• Progress to Junior Engineer with the right development and commitment.
• Communicate proactively with the Field Operations Team.

Financials

• Starting Salary - £28,089.10

• Annual Bonus - approx £2000 - £2500

• 5.5% Pension Contribution - approx £1484

Overtime

• Optional weekend OT at 1.5x rate eg. 10 days would top up the package to £33,504.53

Working Hours

• 42.5hrs per week, Mon-Fri only &NOon-call work

The Role

• Assist our experienced Engineers to complete a variety of jobs including repairs, investigations, excavations and reinstatement works

• Work effectively with other engineers in our team as required

• Learn all aspects of every engineering role at Auger, including how to carry out subsidence investigations

• Specialise in one area after a year, with the opportunity to progress to Junior Engineer and, with the right development and commitment, a fully qualified Engineer

• Communicate proactively with our Field Operations Team at HQ

Preferred Experience

• No previous experience is essential – we will provide you with all the training you need

• Some experience of groundworks or preferable
