Job summary

Glanville Environmental is seeking Drainage Operatives based at the Plympton Depot to work across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. You’ll operate high‑pressure jetting gear on sewer lines and drainage systems, with responsibilities including vehicle checks and adherence to safety protocols.

Full training will be provided, with potential to train toward a Class 2 HGV license. Beneficial qualifications include PTS, NRSWA and CSCS cards, helping you grow within a family‑owned drainage specialist.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Adhere to road traffic regulations and safety protocols.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Utilise high‑pressure jetting equipment to clean sewer lines and drainage systems.
• Operate jetting machinery and tools with precision.
• Assess blockages and drainage issues and diagnose causes.
• Apply appropriate jetting techniques to resolve problems.

We are currently seeking skilled and motivated Drainage Operatives based out of our Plympton Depot to join our dynamic team working across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. You’ll be working on a variety of small and large-diameter sewer cleaning projects, including culverts and outfalls.

More about the role:

• Adhering to all relevant road traffic regulations and safety protocols
• Conducting routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
• Utilising high-pressure jetting equipment to clean and clear sewer lines and drainage systems
• Operating specialist jetting machinery and tools with precision and care
• Assessing and diagnosing blockages, obstructions, and drainage issues
• Implementing appropriate jetting techniques to effectively resolve problems

Qualifications

We provide comprehensive training to ensure your success in the role, and this role could provide you the opportunity to train in obtaining your Class 2 HGV vehicle license.

Holding qualifications such as PTS (City & Guilds) Confined Space Entry, NRSWA (Street works), and a valid CSCS card would also be highly beneficial.
