Job summary

Adler and Allan in Manchester is seeking a Drainage Operative to join a permanent, full-time team onsite with up to 4 nights away. You will perform on-site drainage tasks, contribute to service delivery, and operate either independently or with colleagues to keep systems flowing.

The role requires a clean UK driving licence, willingness to travel to sites, and the ability to complete RAMS documents. You will engage with customers, assist with site supervision when needed, and maintain equipment

Qualifications

• Must have a full clean UK driving licence.
• Experience working near petrol forecourts is preferred.
• Right to Work in the UK is essential.
• RAMS documentation knowledge advantageous.
• Willingness to undertake further training.

Responsibilities

• Operate independently or in a team to service customers, including tank and line testing.
• Respond to call outs for critical issues.
• Occasionally act as site supervisor/lead operative.
• Complete RAMS paperwork and submit to supervision.
• Liaise with customers on ongoing works and additional services.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure all equipment is in good order.
• Complete all works and paperwork in a timely manner.
• Suggest improvements to supervision.
• Undertake any other duties within capability.

More about the role:

• Operating independently, or as part of team to perform and deliver service to all customers of the Company. This will include for example, tank and line testing, VR testing and tank dewatering. This is not an exhaustive list. Onsite training will be provided.
• Respond and react to call outs for critical issues.
• To satisfy the duties of a site supervisor/lead operative when the occasion is presented. This will include attending site briefings as a company representative and on occasion, act as team leader.
• Carry out near miss & potential incident reporting. In-house training will be provided.
• Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure all equipment, tools, PPE and other work items are in good order and repair and available for use at all times. You will be expected to inform supervision as soon as any damage is identified.
• Completion of all works in a timely manner; this includes all paperwork and submission to divisional supervision.
• Liaison with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities.
• Any other duties for which you are qualified for and capable of undertaking.

Qualifications

• Must possess a full clean UK driving licence, categories to operate Company vehicles up to 3.5tonne.
• Working on and around Petrol Forecourts.
• Right to Work in UK is essential.
• Previous knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation. (advantageous)
• Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
