Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a Drainage Network Apprentice to learn how to keep essential drainage systems running across homes, businesses and public areas. You’ll gain hands-on experience on-site, using specialist equipment to locate and fix blockages or faults, while working towards a Level 2 Drainage Network Operative Apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent of Grade D-A*) or Functional Skills Level 1
• Level 2 Drainage Network Operative Apprenticeship

Responsibilities

• Learn how to inspect, clean and maintain drainage and sewer systems
• Help identify and fix issues like blockages, leaks or damage
• Support keeping systems working safely and effectively
• Work with specialist tools, vehicles and equipment used in the industry
• Learn how to use equipment safely and correctly on different job sites
• Help keep equipment in good working condition
• Support responding to urgent drainage issues and emergencies
• Help investigate what’s gone wrong and how to fix it
• Work with your team to resolve problems as quickly as possible
• Follow safety rules, especially in challenging environments like highways or confined spaces
• Help make sure work is carried out safely for you, your team and the public
• Interact with customers and the public in a professional and friendly way
• Keep people informed about the work being carried out
• Represent the business positively while on-site
• Work as part of a team and support colleagues on-site
• Build practical skills and confidence through real work experience
• Complete your apprenticeship training and apply what you learn on the job
