Job summary

Metro Rod Deeside & North Wales is seeking a Drainage Engineer to cover commercial sites, delivering reactive drainage services, planned maintenance and remedial works.

You will inspect and clear blockages using electro-mechanical cleaning equipment, perform CCTV surveys, diagnose faults and carry out lining repairs, while maintaining high safety standards. The role offers a 7.30am–5pm Monday to Friday schedule, circa £35,000 basic plus overtime and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial drainage experience.
• Experience using electro-mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Able to perform CCTV surveys and diagnose faults.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out drains cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance for customers.
• Operate High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment per safety standards.
• Carry out CCTV surveys.
• Provide exceptional customer service and technical expertise.
• Record work details in internal/client systems.
• Communicate with clients and Support Centre to ensure service.

7.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday
Salary circa £35,000 basic plus overtime, on-call & benefits

Metro Rod work with the likes of Equans, Amey, Aldi, Mitie, Greggs, McDonalds, Wetherspoons and many more in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. Ther role:

This is a varied, hands-on role working across commercial sites, delivering a mixture of reactive drainage services, planned maintenance and specialist remedial works. You’ll investigate and clear blockages using electro-mechanical cleaning equipment, complete CCTV surveys, diagnose faults and carry out lining repairs. We’re looking for an experienced commercial drainage engineer with a broad range of skills.

What does it entail?

• Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance of our customers’ drains
• Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
• Carrying out CCTV surveys
• Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
• Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and applications
• Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times
• Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year

What experience do we look for?

• High pressure water jetting experience
• CCTV Surveying experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial drainage
• Experience of using electro-mechanical cleaning equipment
• Excellent problem-solving ability with sound technical knowledge
• Have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude
• Want to be part of a growing and progressive business
• Be willing to work some unsociable hours
• Full UK driving licence
