Job summary

Marshall Recruitment is seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer for a permanent, full-time role covering Cambridge and surrounding areas. You will carry out planned and reactive drainage works across commercial and domestic properties, using CCTV surveys and high-pressure jetting where required.

The ideal candidate must have a full UK driving licence, be reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality service.

Drainage Engineer - Permanent Position

• Location: Cambridge and surrounding areas
• Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
• Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime available

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Drainage Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis, working across Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced drainage professional looking for a long-term position with a well-established business. You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive drainage works across a variety of commercial and domestic properties, providing a professional and efficient service to customers.

The Role

• Carrying out planned and reactive drainage works
• Investigating and diagnosing drainage issues and blockages
• Clearing blocked drains, toilets, sinks and associated drainage systems
• Carrying out drain repairs and maintenance
• Using appropriate drainage equipment and specialist tools
• Carrying out CCTV drainage surveys where required
• Identifying defects and recommending appropriate repair solutions
• Undertaking jetting and mechanical cleaning of drainage systems
• Working on both internal and external drainage systems
• Completing job sheets, service reports and relevant documentation
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
• Maintaining a professional relationship with customers and site teams

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• An experienced Drainage Engineer or Drainage Technician
• Confident carrying out reactive and planned drainage works
• Experienced in dealing with blockages, repairs and drainage maintenance
• Comfortable using professional drainage equipment
• Able to diagnose problems and identify practical solutions
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Customer-focused with good communication skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
• Flexible and willing to work across different sites
• In possession of a full UK driving licence
• Experience with high-pressure water jetting, CCTV drainage surveys, mechanical cleaning and underground drainage repairs would be advantageous.
