Job summary

Sainsbury’s Group is looking for a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries straight to customers’ doors with a friendly, helpful approach. You’ll operate a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, perform pre-departure checks and follow planned routes to ensure timely deliveries.

Ideal candidates are 18+, hold a valid UK/EU license with up to 6 points, and can work flexibly including occasional shifts across the store. Right to Work in the UK is required and AI camera safety measures are in place.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Right to Work in the UK is required
• There will be an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview process and a driving assessment if successful
• In-cab AI cameras monitor driver behaviour for safety and compliance

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury's at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition
• Perform checks to ensure van is roadworthy, clean and organised, and that shopping is secure before departure
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varying locations and conditions
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to properties with steps, lifts, or longer walks from the van
• Communicate clearly with customers and keep them informed of delays or changes to orders
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed
