Job summary

Smart Search Technical Ltd. is recruiting a Door Engineer to join a two-person team, with travel across London and surrounding areas. The role covers installation, servicing and repair of fire curtains and related systems in major commercial and public-sector projects.

You will primarily work on site with a UK-based company, providing maintenance, fault-finding and on-site customer service. A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing and maintaining fire curtains and associated systems
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
• Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
• Repairing doors, shutters and fire protection systems
• Ensuring equipment is operating safely and correctly
• Working across major commercial buildings and developments
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service
• Working closely with your engineering partner and customers on site

Door Engineer - Fire Curtains

£20 per hour + Door-to-Door Travel | Cardiff | London-Based Work

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Door Engineer to join a well-established specialist fire protection company working on major commercial and public-sector projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in industrial doors, roller shutters, automatic doors, fire-rated doors or similar systems who is looking to develop their career within a specialist fire protection environment.

The company specialises in the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of fire curtains, smoke curtains, fire-rated shutters and associated fire protection systems, working to recognised industry standards including BS 8524.

The Role

You will work as part of an established 2-man engineering team, covering predominantly London and the surrounding areas.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing, servicing and maintaining fire curtains and associated systems
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
• Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
• Repairing doors, shutters and fire protection systems
• Ensuring equipment is operating safely and correctly
• Working across major commercial buildings and developments
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service
• Working closely with your engineering partner and customers on site

The Package

• Up to £20 per hour
• Door-to-door travel paid
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Overtime available before 07:30 Monday-Friday
• Overtime available after 16:00 Monday-Thursday
• Overtime available after 15:30 Fridays
• 28 days' holiday including bank holidays
• Company pension
• Predominantly London-based work

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Door Engineer / Door Technician / Door Fitter with a background in the installation, servicing, maintenance or repair of doors or associated systems.

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

• Industrial doors
• Roller shutters
• Sectional doors
• Automatic doors
• Fire-rated doors
• Fire curtains
• Smoke curtains
• Loading bay equipment
• Other specialist door systems

Engineers from a strong industrial or specialist door background will also be considered, with full training provided on the company's specialist fire curtain systems.

A full UK driving licence is required.
