NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking a Donor Carer to join a mobile team. You will welcome donors, support their donation journey and gain clinical skills through comprehensive training, including donor screening and venepuncture.

The role involves varied hours—early and late shifts, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays—without night shifts. It offers a structured schedule with predictable sessions and opportunities to progress within the NHS.

Qualifications

• Be willing to undertake development and training to upskill yourself including completion of the Skills for Health Care Certificate.
• Hold a valid full UK Driving Licence (Manual) with no more than 6 penalty points (provisional licences will not be accepted).
• Good standard of numeracy and literacy; able to follow written and spoken guidance.

Responsabilités

• Welcome and support donors to ensure a safe, caring donation experience.
• Learn and use donor health screening, venepuncture and post-donation care.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality donor care and service.
• Maintain accurate donor records and handle blood products and samples safely.
• Travel to donation venues, set up equipment and help sessions run smoothly.
