Job summary

Compass Group UK&I (Medirest) is seeking a part-time Cleaning Supervisor to lead the Domestic team in the hospital setting, on a 30-hour week. You will supervise rotas, audits, and coach staff to maintain high cleaning standards.

You will engage with ward staff, doctors, and nurses, support the Domestic Manager, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies, with DBS checks covered by employer.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising large teams and rotas.
• Experience conducting performance reviews.
• Experience with return-to-work interviews.
• Knowledge of health & safety and infection control.
• Excellent communication and patient-facing skills.
• Able to work in a hospital environment; DBS check may be required.

Job description

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Cleaning Supervisor to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Healthcare on a part time basis, contracted to 30 hours per week.

• Proven Experience: A background in supervising large teams, managing rotas, conducting performance reviews, and handling return-to-work interviews.
• Adaptability: The ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet business needs.
• Commitment to Quality: A strong focus on maintaining high standards, with sound knowledge of Health & Safety and infection control practices.
• Technical Proficiency: Good IT skills, fully proficient in Microsoft Office, and educated to GCSE level in English and Maths.
• Passion for Care: A genuine enthusiasm for patient care, with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
• Professional Resilience: Confidence in working within a hospital environment, including interacting with patients who may be seriously unwell or distressed.
• Compliance: Willingness to undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service check, with costs covered by the employer.

• Support Staff Wellbeing: Conduct return-to-work interviews for staff after absences.
• Review Performance: Hold regular performance reviews with both new hires and current staff.
• Track Development: Undertake and document all necessary training sessions.
