Job summary

Medirest UK is recruiting a Cleaning Supervisor to oversee the Domestic team in healthcare settings. The role is full-time (36.25 hours/week), with early morning shifts and responsibilities including rota management, audits, and staff coaching.

You will liaise with ward staff and clinicians to maintain high cleaning standards, support patient care, and ensure infection control. A DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising large teams and managing rotas.
• Strong communication with patients, staff, and visitors.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and infection control.
• Proficient IT skills, MS Office.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Team: supervise the Domestic team to ensure smooth operations.
• Set the Standard: ensure the team consistently meets the highest cleaning standards.
• Adapt to Change: support the Domestic Manager in responding to evolving business needs.
• Empower the Team: provide coaching, training, and guidance for team members.
• Build Relationships: liaise with ward staff, doctors, and nurses to ensure collaboration.
• Monitor Quality: conduct audits and generate reports to maintain cleaning standards.
• Manage Schedules: maintain staff rotas and ensure coverage.
• Support Staff Wellbeing: conduct return-to-work interviews after absences.
• Review Performance: hold regular performance reviews with new hires and current staff.
• Track Development: undertake and document training sessions.

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Cleaning Supervisor to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Healthcare on a full time basis, contracted to 36.25 hours per week.

Our Ideal Cleaning Supervisor Will Have

• Proven Experience: A background in supervising large teams, managing rotas, conducting performance reviews, and handling return-to-work interviews.
• Adaptability: The ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet business needs.
• Commitment to Quality: A strong focus on maintaining high standards, with sound knowledge of Health & Safety and infection control practices.
• Technical Proficiency: Good IT skills, fully proficient in Microsoft Office, and educated to GCSE level in English and Maths.
• Passion for Care: A genuine enthusiasm for patient care, with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
• Professional Resilience: Confidence in working within a hospital environment, including interacting with patients who may be seriously unwell or distressed.
• Compliance: Willingness to undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service check, with costs covered by the employer.
