Job summary

Medirest in Cambridge is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor on a full-time basis (36.25 hours per week) to oversee the Domestic team and ensure top cleaning standards in a hospital environment. The role involves coordinating rotas, coaching staff, and liaising with ward staff to support patient care.

The ideal candidate has a background in supervising large teams, strong health & safety knowledge, and good IT skills. DBS check will be required and costs are covered by the employer.

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Cleaning Supervisor to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Healthcare on a full time basis, contracted to 36.25 hours per week.

Our ideal Cleaning Supervisor will have:

• Proven Experience: A background in supervising large teams, managing rotas, conducting performance reviews, and handling return-to-work interviews.
• Adaptability: The ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet business needs.
• Commitment to Quality: A strong focus on maintaining high standards, with sound knowledge of Health & Safety and infection control practices.
• Technical Proficiency: Good IT skills, fully proficient in Microsoft Office, and educated to GCSE level in English and Maths.
• Passion for Care: A genuine enthusiasm for patient care, with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
• Professional Resilience: Confidence in working within a hospital environment, including interacting with patients who may be seriously unwell or distressed.
• Compliance: Willingness to undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service check, with costs covered by the employer.

• Support Staff Wellbeing: Conduct return-to-work interviews for staff after absences.
• Review Performance: Hold regular performance reviews with both new hires and current staff.
• Track Development: Undertake and document all necessary training sessions.
