Job summary

Compass Group UK&I, Medirest is recruiting a Cleaning Supervisor for Healthcare operations in Cambridge on a full-time basis (36.25 hours per week). You will lead the Domestic team, ensuring high cleaning standards and safe practices, while coordinating rotas and reporting on quality metrics.

The role requires supervising large teams, strong communication with ward staff, doctors and nurses, and a commitment to patient care. DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Background in supervising large teams and managing rotas.
• Experience conducting performance reviews and return-to-work interviews.
• Adaptable, able to work under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and infection control.
• Good IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office; GCSE English and Maths.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check funded by employer.
• Able to liaise with ward staff, doctors and nurses to ensure collaboration.

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Cleaning Supervisor to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Healthcare on a full time basis, contracted to 36.25 hours per week.

Our ideal Cleaning Supervisor will have:

• Proven Experience: A background in supervising large teams, managing rotas, conducting performance reviews, and handling return-to-work interviews.
• Adaptability: The ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet business needs.
• Commitment to Quality: A strong focus on maintaining high standards, with sound knowledge of Health & Safety and infection control practices.
• Technical Proficiency: Good IT skills, fully proficient in Microsoft Office, and educated to GCSE level in English and Maths.
• Passion for Care: A genuine enthusiasm for patient care, with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
• Professional Resilience: Confidence in working within a hospital environment, including interacting with patients who may be seriously unwell or distressed.
• Compliance: Willingness to undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service check, with costs covered by the employer.

• Manage Schedules: Maintain staff rotas and ensure all areas are adequately covered.
• Support Staff Wellbeing: Conduct return-to-work interviews for staff after absences.
• Review Performance: Hold regular performance reviews with both new hires and current staff.
• Track Development: Undertake and document all necessary training sessions.
