Job summary

Swansea Gas and Oil Limited is seeking an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will travel across Swansea and South Wales performing gas boiler installations, servicing, fault-finding and repairs, and landlord gas safety checks.

Oil heating experience is a bonus but not essential. You will work independently in customers' homes, maintain clear records, and uphold high standards of safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Current domestic gas qualifications (ACS CCN1 and CENWAT or equivalents) and Gas Safe registration.
• Oil heating qualifications are a plus but not essential.
• Experience with domestic boiler installations, servicing, fault-finding and repairs.
• Strong knowledge of central heating systems and related plumbing.
• OFTEC qualifications and oil heating experience are advantageous.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable and well-organised with ability to work independently.
• Valid full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Swansea and South Wales.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and repair domestic gas boilers and heating systems.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs safely and efficiently.
• Perform landlord gas safety checks within your qualifications and registration.
• Maintain accurate job records and safety documentation.
• Explain findings and work clearly to customers.
• Be mindful of customers’ homes and keep work area tidy.
• Work independently and as part of the team.

Swansea Gas and Oil provides gas and oil heating services across Swansea and South Wales, including boiler installations, servicing, repairs and landlord gas safety checks. We pride ourselves on reliable service, high-quality workmanship and clear, honest communication with our customers.

Role Description

We’re looking for an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis, working in customers’ homes across Swansea and South Wales.

You’ll carry out domestic gas boiler installations, servicing, fault-finding and repairs, alongside landlord gas safety checks and central heating maintenance. Experience and qualifications in oil heating would be an advantage, but are not essential.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Installing, servicing and repairing domestic gas boilers and heating systems.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out landlord gas safety checks within your qualifications and registration.
• Completing accurate job records and required safety documentation.
• Explaining findings and work clearly to customers.
• Taking care of customers’ homes and maintaining a tidy working area.
• Working independently and alongside the wider team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current relevant domestic gas qualifications, including ACS CCN1 and CENWAT, or recognised equivalents, with any additional qualifications appropriate to the work undertaken.
• Appropriate Gas Safe registration for the work undertaken.
• Experience in domestic boiler installations, servicing, fault-finding and repairs.
• Practical knowledge of central heating systems and associated plumbing.
• Relevant OFTEC qualifications and oil heating experience would be an advantage.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A reliable, organised approach and the ability to work independently.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Swansea and South Wales.
