Job summary

The Retention Group is hiring an AM2-qualified Domestic Electrician to join our renewable energy team in Southampton. The role focuses on domestic installations with a local patch, offering training in solar, battery storage, EV chargers, and heat pumps, plus a company van and 33 days holiday.

Typical day starts at 8 am and finishes at 4 pm, with no nights away and no weekend work. This is a hands-on position ideal for electricians who want to transition into renewables and grow with the company.

Qualifications

• AM2 Qualified for domestic electrical work.
• Domestic background preferred.
• NVQ Level 3 useful.

Responsibilities

• Perform domestic renewable installations in a local patch.
• Install solar, battery storage, EV chargers and heat pumps as trained.
• Work Monday to Friday, 8 am–4 pm, with no nights away or weekend work.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an AM2-qualified electrician with a domestic background to join an award-winning renewable energy specialist.

Full training in solar, battery storage, EV chargers, and heat pumps will be provided, along with a company van and 33 days of paid holiday.

In this role, you'll work in small teams covering a local patch, with no requirements to work away from home or weekends.

All the work is renewables-based, and most days you'll arrive on site at 8 am and finish at 4 pm.
