Responsibilities and duties of the Domestic Electrician role

Reporting to the Qualified Supervisor, you will:

• Install extractor fans and general electrical components in domestic properties with attention to safety and compliance.
• Carry out electrical testing, fault finding, and remedial works in occupied or void social housing.
• Complete periodic inspection reports (EICRs) and ensure all installations meet BS 7671 standards.
• Deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service on-site.
• Support planned maintenance and rewires, including consumer unit upgrades.
• Travel to customer sites across the North East, North West, and Yorkshire.
• Maintain a safe and compliant working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
• Accurately document and report work completed for audit and regulatory compliance.
• Liaise professionally with tenants and housing representatives, ensuring minimal disruption during works.
• Manage van stock and tools efficiently to support daily operations.
• Opportunity to train in Solar PV and Air Source Heat Pump wiring as project leads expand.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Mandatory:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• C&G 2391-52 - Initial & Periodic Inspection & Testing

Desirable:

• ECS Gold Card
• AM2 Assessment
• Competent Person Scheme (e.g. NICEIC, NAPIT)
