Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join the Hotel Services Department at Western Isles Hospital, Stornoway. The post is Band 2 (£26,696–£28,988 pro rata) with a £1,461 Distant Island Allowance pro rata and part-time hours (15 per week).

You will provide cleaning services to patients, staff and visitors, maintaining a safe, welcoming environment and meeting the National Cleaning Services standards. The role is permanent, 6pm-9pm (Mon-Fri), based at Macaulay Road.

Qualifications

• Must achieve Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers.
• PVG Scheme registration may be required for the role.

• Work alongside and support new staff within the team.

An opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Assistant post, to join our Domestic Services Team within the Western Isles Hospital, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1.

The successful candidate will provide a cleaning service to patients, staff and visitors through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a safe and welcoming environment, and to meet the required standards, as per the National Cleaning Services Specification.

To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

The primary work base will be within the Western isles Hospital, Macaulay Road, Stornoway, Isles of Lewis.

The successful candidate will need to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and comply with the Code of Conduct within three months of full-time employment or up to six months for part time workers. For further information see www.hcswtoolkit.nes.scot.nhs.uk
