Job summary

NHS Scotland is recruiting a Domestic Assistant to join the Hotel Services Department at Uist and Barra Hospital, Balivanich. The role requires providing a wide range of cleaning duties and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, with commitment to supporting new staff and adhering to healthcare standards.

Working 6 hours per week, Saturdays and Sundays at enhanced rates; include pro rata allowances. Closing date: 31/08/2026. PVG registration is required.

Qualifications

• Must achieve Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers.
• Must comply with PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.
• Post not eligible for relocation expenses.

Band 2 - £26,696 to £28,988 pro rata

Plus £1,461 Distant Island Allowance pro rata

The opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Assistant post, to join our Domestic Services Team within the, Uist and Barra Hospital, Balivanich, Isle of BenbeculaHS7 5LA

The successful candidate will provide will be required to undertake a wide range of cleaning duties associated with maintaining a high standard of cleanliness always ensuring that a high-quality service provision.

To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

The successful candidate will need to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and comply with the Code of Conduct within three months of full-time employment or up to six months for part time workers. For further information see www.hcswtoolkit.nes.scot.nhs.uk

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme. This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
