Job summary

Abbeyfield The Dales Ltd is seeking a caring Domestic Assistant to join our not-for-profit care charity. The role covers two weekly patterns: Week 1 (Tue, Wed, Sat, Sun 11:30-16:30) and Week 2 (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri 11:30-16:30).

You will maintain a clean and safe environment across resident areas and support laundry duties while respecting residents’ privacy and dignity. We value honesty, caring, respect and openness and offer a Real Living Wage, pension contributions, training and DBS cost

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across resident rooms, apartments, and communal areas.
• Clean, vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitise surfaces to required standards.
• Carry out deep cleaning of vacated rooms and prepare them for new residents.
• Ensure communal areas are consistently clean and well presented.
• Follow infection control procedures and health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Replenish supplies and complete laundry and ironing tasks as required.
• Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and respect residents’ privacy, dignity, and individual needs.

We are looking for a caring and reliable Domestic Assistant to join our team.

The working pattern is

Week 1- Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 11:30am to 4:30pm

Week 2 - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11:30am to 4:30pm

Key Duties

• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across all resident rooms, apartments, and communal areas
• Clean, vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitise all surfaces, furnishings, and high-touch areas to required standards
• Carry out deep cleaning of vacated rooms and prepare them for new residents
• Ensure communal areas, including kitchens, bathrooms, reception, and shared spaces, are consistently clean and well presented
• Follow infection control procedures and all relevant health and safety guidelines at all times
• Replenish supplies and complete laundry and ironing tasks as required
• Use cleaning equipment safely and report maintenance issues or hazards promptly
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and respect residents’ privacy, dignity, and individual needs at all times
